I run a kids’ bedtime story channel. Moomo, Nooni and Fifi, the stills all over this site, are mine.
When YouTube started talking about “inauthentic content”, I did what most people do. I assumed it was about other channels. Spam. Stolen clips. Not a little bedtime show.
Then I actually lined my uploads up side by side. 221 titles that started the same way. The same bedroom on thumbnail after thumbnail. The same opening line, week after week. I hadn’t copied anyone. I’d copied myself, because the format worked.
That’s the bit that scared me. From the inside, my channel looked consistent. From a reviewer’s chair, it looked mass-produced.
I spent days fixing it by hand. Samey is the check I wish I’d had before I needed it: someone looking at your channel the way a reviewer would, and telling you plainly what to change.
